भगवान
शिव को देवों के देव का कहा जाता है. महादेव का एक रूप ताडंव करते नटराज का है तो दूसरा रूप महान महायोगी का है. ये दोनों ही रूप रहस्यों से भरे हैं, लेकिन शिव को भोलेनाथ भी कहा जाता है. जहां एक साथ इतने सारे रंग हो फिर क्यों न अपनी जिंदगी में इन रंगों से प्रेरणा लें.
1. बुराई को खत्म करना:
ब्रह्मा
उत्पत्ति के लिए और विष्णु रचना के लिए और शिव को विनाश के लिए जाना जाता है. शिव का यह रूप आपको डराने वाला लग सकता है लेकिन किसी बुराई का खत्म होना बेहद जरूरी होता है. शिव इसी के लिए जाने जाते हैं.
2. शांत रहकर
खुद पर नियंत्रण रखना :
शिव
से बड़ा कोई योगी नहीं हुआ. किसी परिस्थिति से खुद को दूर रखते हुए उस पर पकड़ रखना आसान नहीं होता है. महादेव एक बार ध्यान में बैठ जाएं तो दुनिया इधर से उधर हो जाए लेकिन उनका ध्यान कोई भंग नहीं कर सकता है. शिव का यह ध्यान हमें जीवन की चीजों पर नियंत्रण रखना सिखाती है.
3. नकारात्मक चीजों
को भी सकारात्मक होकर लेना:
समुद्रमंथन
से जब विष बाहर आया तो सभी ने कदम पीछे खींच लिए थे क्योंकि विष कोई नहीं पी सकता था. ऐसे में महादेव ने स्वयं विष (हलाहल) पिया और उन्हें नीलकंठ नाम दिया गया. इस घटना से बहुत बड़ा सबक मिलता है कि हम भी जीवन में आने वाली निगेटिव चीजों को अपने अंदर रख लें लेकिन उसका असर न खुद पर हावी होने दें अौर न ही दूसरों पर.
4. जीवनसाथी के प्रति
सम्मान:
शिव
का यह रूप जगजाहिर है. हिंदू मान्यताओं के हिसाब से परफेक्ट पार्टनर महादेव को ही माना जाता है. अगर पार्वती ने उन्हें मनाने के लिए सालों की तपस्या की तो दूसरी ओर शिव ने उन्हें अर्धांगिनी बनाया. तभी तो 33 करोड़ देवताओं में शिव को ही अर्धनारीश्वर कहा जाता है.
5. हर समय
समान भाव रखना :
शिव
का संपूर्ण रूप देखकर यह संदेश मिलता है कि हम जिन चीजों को अपने आस-पास देख भी नहीं सकते उसे उन्होंने बड़ी आसानी से अपनाया है. तभी तो उनकी शादी पर भूतों की मंडली पहुंची थी और शरीर में भभूत लगाए भोलेनाथ के गले में सांप लिपटा होता है. बुराई किसी में नहीं बस एक बार आपको उसे अपनाना होता है.
6. तीसरी आंख का
खुलना :
शिव
को हमेशा त्रयंबक कहा गया है, क्योंकि उनकी एक तीसरी आंख है. तीसरी आंख का मतलब है कि बोध या अनुभव का एक दूसरा आयाम खुल गया है. दो आंखें सिर्फ भौतिक चीजों को देख सकती हैं. जो कि भीतर की ओर देख सकता है. इस बोध से आप जीवन को बिल्कुल अलग ढंग से देख सकते हैं. इसके बाद दुनिया में जितनी चीजों का अनुभव किया जा सकता है, उनका अनुभव हो सकता है. इसलिए बनी बनाई चीजों पर चलने से पहले खुद समझे-सोचें.
7. अपनी राह
चुनना:
शिव
की जीवन शैली हो या उनका कोई अवतार. वे हर रूप में बिल्कुल अलग हैं. फिर वो रूप तांडव करते हुए नटराज हो, विष पीने वाले नीलकंठ , अर्धनारीश्वर, सबसे पहले प्रसन्न होने वाले भोलेनाथ का हो. वे हर रूप में जीवन को सही राह देते हैं.

The theme of the story is to nullify the powers of Yama (God
of Death) by Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva blesses sage Mrukanda Maharshi and his wife with
a child. The child, Markandeya, was given a lease of 16 years to live in this
world. But the child worships Lord Shiva with unlimited Bhakthi (devotion).
When he completes 16 years of age, Yama comes to take his life as appointed.
Markandeya grips the Shivalinga and Lord Shiva appears before Yama and tells
him not to take Markandeya's life as he (Lord Shiva) has blessed the boy. So,
Markandeya becomes an immortal. The moral of the story is that one who
surrenders to God need not worry about death.

द्वारा की गई शिव स्तुति को महा मृत्युंजय स्तोत्र के नाम से जाना जाता है | स्तोत्र की पंक्तियाँ पढ़ने सुनने से ही आत्म विश्वास पैदा होता है – जिस पर चंद्रशेखर की कृपा हो, उसका यम भी क्या बिगाड़ सकेंगे ? उनको प्रणाम करने वाले का मृत्यु क्या बिगाड़ेगी ?

Monday is ruled by the Moon whose deity is Lord Shiva.
Bharani Nakshatra is known to cause accidents, traffic jams and sudden
outbursts of energy. With Mars and Ketu getting closer together, it is
extremely important to be careful as they have the potential to cause serious
damage through accidents.
A great remedy is to listen or meditate on the
Chandrasekhara Ashtakam. Lord Shiva is hailed as Chandrasekhar (Chandra – moon,
Sekhar – crown) – The one who adorns his crown with the moon.
Chandrasekhar Ashtakam was written by Rishi Markandeya. One
legend relates the story of how Lord Shiva protected Markandeya from the
clutches of death, personified as Lord Yama.
Mrikandu rishi and his wife Marudmati worshipped Shiva and
sought from him the boon of begetting a son. As a result, he was given the
choice of either a righteous son, but with a short life on earth or 100
long-lived, foolish sons. Mrikandu rishi chose the former and was blessed with
Markandeya, an exemplary son, destined to die at the age of 16.
Markandeya grew up to be a great devotee of Shiva and on the
day of his destined death, he continued his worship of Shiva in his aniconic
form of Shivalingam. The messengers of Yama, the god of death were unable to
take away his life because of his great devotion and continual worship of
Shiva. Yama then came in person to take away Markandeya’s life and sprung his
noose around the young sage’s neck. By accident or fate the noose mistakenly
landed around the Shivalingam, and out of it, Shiva emerged in all his fury
attacking Yama for his act of aggression. After defeating Yama in a battle to
the point of death, Shiva then revived him, under the condition that the devout
youth would live forever. For this act, Shiva was thereafter also known as
Kalantaka (“Ender of Death”).
The word Kalantaka means “He who ends Death”. The name is
derived from two Sanskrit words- kala (काल) which means “Death or Time” and
antaka (अन्तक)
which means “He who ends”. His other names are-
Kalakala (कालकाल) – he who is the death of Death.
Kalasamhara (कालसंहार) – slayer of Death.
Kalari (कालारि) – foe of Death.
Kalahara (कालहार) – one who destroys Death.
Kalahari (कालहारी) – one who takes away Death.
Markandeyanugraha (मार्कण्डेयानुग्रह) – bestowing grace upon
Markandeya.
Mrityunjaya (मृत्युञ्जय) – he who won over Death.
Sage Markandeya sang the Chandrasekhar Ashtakam in praise of
Lord Shiva. Every single word in the song is absolutely profound and beautiful.

of God of Death, And so what can God of Death do to me?
I seek refuge in Him, who has the moon, Who is the doctor
who cures sorrowful life,
Who destroys all sorts of dangers, Who destroyed the fire
sacrifice of Daksha, Who is personification of three qualities, Who has three
different eyes, Who bestows devotion and
salvation, And who destroys all types of sins, And so what can God of death do
to me?
I seek refuge in Him, who has the moon, Who is worshipped as
darling of devotees, Who is the treasure which is perennial, Who clothes
Himself with the directions, Who is the chief of all beings, Who is beyond the
unreachable God, Who is not understood by any one, Who is the holiest of every
one, And who is served by moon, water, sun, earth, Fire, ether, boss and the
Wind And so what can god of death do to me?
I seek refuge in Him, who has the moon, Who does the
creation of the universe, Who then is interested in its upkeep, Who at proper
time destroys the universe, Who lives in every being of the universe, Who is
plays day and night with all beings, Who is the leader of all beings, And who
is like any one of them, And so what can god of death do to me?
He who reads this prayer, Composed by the son of Mrukandu,
Who was fear struck with death, In the temple of Lord Shiva, Will not have fear
of death, He would have full healthy life, With all grains and all wealth, And
Lord Chandra Shekara, Would give Him, Salvation in the end.
